Password Equb is a registered Equb platform in Addis Ababa. Our job is to take a savings tradition Ethiopians already understand and run it with live lotteries, bank payments, and a PIN-locked app.
The story
Equb is how a lot of Ethiopia actually saves: a group agrees on an amount, everyone pays in, and one member takes the collected pot each round until the circle completes. No interest lecture. No waiting years for a bank product that never quite fits.
The weak points have always been the same — disputed lists, late cash, a lottery nobody saw, a treasurer who moved. Password Equb keeps the social contract and replaces the notebook with an app: verified members, scheduled contributions, live Sunday draws, and a claim flow when you win.
The platform is operated by Password, based in Gulele Sub-city, Addis Ababa.
Transparency over whispers
Sunday draws at 9:00 AM are live in the app. Payment history, rounds, and winners are recorded — not remembered from a meeting you missed.
Know your member
KYC, valid ID, and bank payments are the floor. A rotating pot only works if the people in it are real and the money is traceable.
Who it is for
Adults 18 and over who can verify identity and income, live in the service area, and want a rotating pot — not a loan pitch. Whether you are collecting for a car over three years or a weekly cash Equb with coworkers, the rules live in the app and in our terms.
